Forthcoming Book: The Art of Compassion
April 5, 2024Alice’s April 2024 TEDx Talk has been selected as an Editor’s Pick by TEDx! Editor’s Pick is an honor given to a few talks globally that are highlighted, and it means that there will be an additional delay as the organization schedules the release and plans some media hype around it.
We don’t yet know the release date yet, but we are working hard to make it align with the publication of the book Alice has been working on with her publisher, Liminality Press. The book is finished and initial edits are complete, but there is more work to be done before printing.
Alice’s TEDx talk is focused on the parallels between grief and physical injury. We sometimes lose sight of the idea that we can heal from trauma. We can take blows and work at healing the wounds and come back stronger, just like when we have a broken bone or other injury. We will never be the same, but we don’t have to see ourselves as permanently damaged. Alice’s talk is about having the volition to bring oneself back from really awful life events (including but not limited to having a loved one commit suicide).
Alice is currently accepting requests to be a guest on relevant podcasts. The topic can focus either on the experience of the grieving person, or alternately on a how-to for friends and family looking to support someone dealing with traumatic grief. Please reach out to schedule. Alice looks forward to being of service to people who are in the middle of a life event and want support either for themselves or to learn how to be a great friend to someone who is grieving.
