"Why" - an essay by Alice Foeller on Daniel's choice to end his life.
Daniel's Obituary
Thanks to Larry Biederman, Daniel's college roomate, for preparing the video of photos and music.
A memorial bench and tree have been placed at Rocky Fork Metro Park, northeast of Daniel's home, thanks to generous donations from Daniel's colleagues at Keyfactor, one of his prior employers. Daniel and Alice frequently took walks at this park, especially in winter when Daniel was craving sunlight. He liked this park because it had a large sunny meadow. In winter, he would bundle up in his red coat and walk in the sun. Often the grass was crunchy underfoot with frost. The last time they walked there, a stray cat was coming from the opposite direction on the walking path. It walked right up to Daniel, curled around his legs, and interacted playfully with him for a long while. Feel free to visit his bench and tree and think of him fondly. The bench has a green plaque at the top and is located along the eastern edge of the North Meadow Trail at Rocky Fork Metro Park.
